Wheaton College exists to help build the church and improve society worldwide by promoting the development of whole and effective Christians through excellence in programs of Christian higher education.
For nearly 150 years Wheaton has remained committed to its mission, and no part of that commitment has waned today. The question now is, "What will be required to fulfill this mission in the twenty-first century?"

Thorough review of the College's strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities has revealed key priorities that Wheaton must address in the next several years:
Ensuring affordability in the midst of increasing economic challenges to higher education
Strengthening academics, especially in the sciences and the fine arts
Fostering Wheaton’s particular commitment to shaping the whole student for Christ
In response, the College has mobilized The Promise of Wheaton campaign, with the intent of raising $260 million by the year 2010.
The name of the campaign itself signifies the pledge of Wheaton's founders, the College family’s ongoing devotion to the gospel, and the God-given potential of generations of students and alumni.
